A sculptural vase crafted from red clay sourced from Sansepolcro, Tuscany, hand-thrown into a spherical shape. The central surface features geometric reliefs, spherical motifs, and Renaissance-inspired bas-relief decorations, all individually handcrafted. This piece exemplifies Maestro Mengoni’s unique mastery of the abborchiato embossing technique. The vase is further elevated with a brilliant finish of pure 24kt gold, applied using the terzo fuoco ( third firing) technique. Its surface undergoes a manual antiquing process with a secret natural blend enriched with sandalwood ash. The artist’s signature is engraved into the clay on the visible surface of the vase.
